"Let us read, and let us dance; these two amusements will never do any harm to the world." Voltaire
The ferns grew in abundance at the base of the waterfall and were forever covered with the soft mist cast out by the water crashing onto the rocks. Behind the falling water, and amongst the rocks, forest nymphs called the crevices their home. They passed their days dancing around the falling water and playing with the animals that came to drink at the chilled pools. They sunbathed in the streams of light that broke through the forest's canopy and sung echoing harmonies. Their songs would guide the forest's animals back to the safety of the trees after long journeys. They were the anchor of the forest and always a welcome sound, a sense of home. When lost, the forest creatures would listen for the nymphs' voices and many times were saved by these sweet melodies on the wind.
