Dating back to 1887 and first printed by Liberty furnishing fabrics in the mid 1890s, "Hera" has been a popular favorite in the Liberty range on and off ever since. The design is named after the Greek Goddess of marriage, Hera, who had a peacock as her talisman. The peacock feather was a much used symbol during the Aesthetic Movement of the 1880s. This cashmere version of the design was introduced in 2013 and is screen printed in Italy, using 13 individual screens.
