From Iris, springs raw classical beauty. From Tonka beans, musk and vanilla come softness and warmth, while the base of sandalwood and vetiver adds a melodious resonance. If Pierre Bourdon's Iris Poudre was a garment, it would be a couture item - perhaps something made from cashmere - classic but personal, something one never grows tired of. It is a grand floral aldehyde.
Pierre Bourdon earned a degree in political science before changing directions and enrolling in the Roure Bertrand Dupont school in Grasse. He then became the only protégé of celebrated perfumer Edmond Roudnitska. His professional career began at Roure in Paris in the late 70's. In the 1980s, he revolutionized perfume trends with his men's fragrance "Cool Water" for Davidoff. Today, Bourdon is considered one of the most innovative perfumers of his generation.
